Dr. Lane is a fee for service provider. As such, he does not accept any form of insurance. However, in some instances, he will offer a sliding fee scale. Dr. Lane is happy to provide any clinical documentation that an insurance provider may require for reimbursement at no extra expense. However, he does ask that his clients and/or their families submit and correspond with the insurance provider directly. Session receipts are provided on a monthly basis (more frequently if requested).
Psychotherapy services (individual or family therapy) are billed at an hourly rate (50 minute session). Payment is expected at the end of the session. Dr. Lane accepts cash or personal checks. There is a set fee for both psychological and psychosexual evaluations. This set fee differs between the two types of evaluations and covers the full range of services provided (see Services page). However, on occasion, Dr. Lane will be asked to conduct an abbreviated psychological evaluation. The fee for this service depends on the type and amount of interviewing and administration of tests conducted. Regardless of type of evaluation, half of the cost should be paid at the onset with the remainder due when the final report is provided (typically during the feedback session).
Whether your first appointment with Dr. Lane is for outpatient psychotherapy, psychological testing or a psychosexual evaluation, please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the session to begin reviewing and completing necessary paperwork. If you are attending a psychotherapy (individual or family therapy) appointment, the first appointment will involve the attainment of a through clinical history and efforts to establish rapport. Typically, by the end of the second or third session, Dr. Lane will review his assessment of the issue and discuss the proposed treatment plan, including estimated length of treatment.
First appointments for psychological testing and psychosexual evaluations are typically 90 minutes in length and involve the attainment of a thorough history from both the parent/guardian, as well as the child. Again, concerted efforts will be made to establish rapport and help the child/adolescent be more comfortable with the evaluative process. Given the amount of time needed to interview the parents/guardians without the child/adolescent present, please bring activities that can hold the child/adolescent's attention while they wait in the waiting room. Magazines and toys for young children are also available.
If it is more convenient for you, please feel free to print out and complete the following form prior to the first appointment.
